Google Sheets paycheck planner

Plan your bills by paycheck, not by month.

Add your pay schedule and your monthly or yearly bills. Quiet Penny builds a 12-month bill plan around your paydays. Bills due before the first payday in your plan are listed separately.

EXAMPLE v1.4: Paycheck Plan with sample income and bills

EXAMPLE copy, sample data

A monthly total doesn't show what each payday needs to cover.

Which paycheck pays rent?

Rent due on the 1st goes to the last payday on or before the 1st. If you're paid on the 1st, that paycheck covers it.

Which bills are due before your first payday?

Bills due before the first payday in your plan are listed separately instead of being assigned to a paycheck.

Which bills belong to each paycheck period?

Each paycheck covers bills due from its payday up to the day before the next payday. A bill due on the next payday goes to that next paycheck.

How it works

  1. 1

    1. Choose your pay schedule.

Weekly, every two weeks, twice a month (two days you pick) or monthly. Your first payday anchors a 12-month plan.

  2. 2

    2. Add each bill once.

Monthly or yearly, with its due day. Bills are assigned to the last payday on or before their due date. Bills due before the first payday in your plan are listed separately.

  3. 3

    3. See each paycheck.

Every payday lists its assigned bills and Income minus assigned bills, with the exact dates it covers.

Income minus assigned bills is a planning figure for that paycheck only. It isn't your bank balance or an amount set aside for spending.

  4. 4

    4. Optional: log spending and track goals.

They're kept separate from the paycheck plan.
